Fancy Dog Beds
When your K-9 is “dog tired,” where will he or she sleep? How about one of these fancy dog beds? Dog beds come in many different styles, with many different features. But let’s face it, when it comes to buying fancy dog beds, that’s more of our own expression than the dog’s needs, right? Read on, and see what LKB has turned up in her research.
Fancy Dog Beds – The Joy Of Sleeping
(Written by LKB)
There are so many types of fancy dog beds to choose from. One of the fun novelty dog beds is the wrought-iron bed, which looks like a dog-sized day bed. The dog sofa or dog armchair beds look just like they sound, and are great for the dog who keeps sprawling all over your sofa or favorite armchair. And of course you can get your dog’s bed personalized with their name and really make a statement.
But if you prefer something simpler, the classic dog mattress is still available. For the dog who loves to curl up while sleeping, get a round bed with supportive sides, like the bolster bed; or if your dog is a real snuggler, try a “nesting” or “cave bed” that will give your dog a real sense of security. (The covers on dog mattresses are machine-washable and durable.)
Your older dog would love an orthopedic dog bed that is made with memory foam. Memory foam helps to distribute your dog’s weight and keeps the pressure off sore joints, giving your dog a more supportive and comfortable sleep experience.
Another fancy dog bed is the therapeutic, heated dog bed, which is also great for older dogs with arthritic joints as well as younger dogs, who sometimes suffer from hip dysplasia. Add in the dog recovering from surgery or healing from an injury and you have many situations that call for a heated dog bed.
Arthritic pain increases in cold and wet weather, so the warmth of one of these heated, fancy dog beds would be beneficial to your dog’s health. Heat also has a calming effect; so if your dog is in any kind of distress or discomfort, the heated dog bed may be soothing. Even dogs with thick fur can get cold in climates with sub-zero temperatures, so the fancy, heated dog bed would work for them, too. Heated dog beds can improve your dog’s health and help keep them more active.
If you live in an area that is hot all year round, then a cooling fancy dog bed would be the ideal way to keep your dog from getting overheated and provide relief from the muggy weather.
Dog beds are as versatile as the dogs who sleep in them. From small dogs to large dogs, all dogs love to sleep a lot. For dogs it is all about the comfort and security their own bed provides them. So why not get your dog one of these cozy, comfortable fancy dog beds? Your dog will sleep better, and so will you!
